| | Catalogue of postage stamps of the 3rd Millennium |
- Here you can view not only the latest stamp issues, but also the stamps issued througout the Third Millennium (from 01.01.2000 onwards), from a variety of countries and territories.
Hopefully you will find the country or territory of your preference here. If not, please let us know and we will invite that country's or territory's postal administration to participate. Collector's Target's Stamp Catalogue might play an important role for the publicity of the postage stamp issues for the countries or territories that participate, since it has over 4 thousand visitors daily.
As you are surely aware of, our beloved hobby is nowadays facing a threat. Shady individuals out there have found a new way to cheat (or better, steal the money from) credulous collectors, by printing and market sometimes very well made "stamps" bearing the name of an existing country or territory. The problem though is that the legal stamp-issuing entity in, or for that country or territory did not produce these "stamps". These stamps are thus referred as ILLEGAL.
We are here to try to help you find out what stamps are legal and what stamps are not. The information and images shown in this Stamp Catalogue origin from the postal administration or legal stamp issuing entity (authority) in each country ONLY. Moreover, the shady individuals as described above, are after the fast money, of course. They issue the illegal stamps, but do not mind to issue the traditional products related to each new stamp issue, such as First Day Covers, Maximum Cards, or even Presentation Packs. Making these would of course take too much effort and labour related to the income. For this reason we also publish the images of the described 'by-products' along with the listings. We hope you will feel it nice to learn whether a certain stamp issue is legal or not, moreover it's always nice to see the designs of the First Day Covers, the Maximum Cards and eventual Packs that come along with each stamp issue. This service is intended not only to inform on new issues, but also to be a reference catalogue of all stamps issued in the Third Millennium - since 1.1.2000. There is a single page for each country, which has links to each year from 2000 and onwards, which in turn run chronological lists with a link to each separate stamp issue, with sharp, contrast-rich images of the stamps, First Day Covers and other philatelic products, that comes along with each stamp issue. In some cases you may view also other products, such as Maximum Cards, Booklets, packs, etc.
Have you ever approached the problem of having reliable information on new stamp issues? Writing to the Philatelic Bureaux of the countries of your favourites, and then having to wait to see what happens. If you are lucky, you will receive a list of stamps available, but it is not sure they placed your name on their mailing list for philatelic news and bulletins. Even though you asked for it. If you are less lucky, you won't hear anything from them at all.
Philatelic newsletters and bulletins come in all forms and sizes. There is no universal format. Some Philatelic Bureaux are corrupt enough to ask you to pay (!) in order to receive their new issue bulletins. Nevertheless, it may take a deal of logistics in order to keep all the papers you receive in order; otherwise you might soon wind up with a slight mess...

An other option would be to seek for new issues on the websites made by various postal administrations. However, you will wind up sitting in front of the computer for hours, finally to ascertain there is no universal format to the web sites either. The webmasters of each country's postal administration have found out their own (peculiar) ways of making the navigation on their websites... Some sites are very good: they are updated daily, others monthly, yet others once a year. But there are some postal administrations that do not update their web site at all! The worst cases we have seen are web sites not even having a functional contact email address!!!
This is where we come in: We will try to give you the possibility to view the new stamps from a variety of countries and territories from one and same source only. Same format.
We have written each stamp issuing authority asking for publicity material for each of these and all future stamp releases, for inclusion into this web site. Those authorities that are, or will be interested in this project, provide us with the material and information, and this will be published here - in advantage to you.
If you appreciate this service or site, please tell others about us. If there is something you dislike, please let us know. Do not forget to bookmark this site. Please inform your friends about it, too.
