Serving collectors throughout the world Collector's Target was started in Sweden in 1984 by Mr. Malte Aronsson with the object of helping collectors come in touch with others, in order to easify and promote the possibilties of exchanging (trading) collectibles, no matter of political, religious or racial barriers. Collector's Target published it's first "Pen-Friend & Collector" Magazine in January 1995, with listings of already over 140 collectors in 34 countries. As time flied by, the Magazine grew, and the last years in 1997-1999, it transformed to become a Directory of Collectors, issued on a yearly basis, instead of a quarterly magazine as before. In 1999 the Directory consisted of over 2500 listings in 206 countries. 1n 1999, a website was started to easify the exchanges also between collectors on-line. An interesting thing, the number of collectors who used the Internet "Pen-Friend" service on our site passed the 1999 paper Magazine twice during the first year only. In the end of 2000, Collector's Target's website was redesigned and transformed to give more features for collectors. Now a directory of links to other websites on stamp collecting was added. In the beginning, there were links to sites of different collecting categories to be found in one single category on the site. Soon our eyes were opened, and new categories and subcategories has been and will probably be added also in the future. Anyone who run and maintain a web page, or site is welcome to leave a link to Collector's Target's library of links. On a reciprocal basis, of course. In 2001 we started receive inquiries on streaming information about new issues of postage stamps on the web site. As you can see, this is a feature that has been added as well. This is still in an inaugural stage, so there are only a few postal authorities yet participating. More and more Postal Authorities will probably join this project, since this will result more promotion to their stamps and related collectible articles, and thus, sales. Any Postal Authority interested in joining are welcome to tell us so by E-Mail or to our postal address left in the bottom of this page. Postal Authorities are advised to read the rules and regulations for this feature first. Collector's Target PO Box 30039 SE 40043 Göteborg SWEDEN
