Printed in Budapest's Securities printing - house. Antanas Salys (1902-1972) Linguist A. Salys was the initiator of the experimental phonetics in Lithuania. He prepared a detailed classification and the first map of the dialects of the Lithuanian language. He was one of the founders and editors of the magazine "Mother Tongue". Šatrijos Ragana (1877-1930) Writer Šatrijos Ragana was the initiator of the lyrical psychological prose in the Lithuanian literature. The most significant story is "In the Old Manor". Šatrijos Ragana wrote dramas, travel sketches, articles on pedagogics, ethics, aesthetics, books on beekeeping. She translated some works of Polish and German writers. Oskaras Milašius (1877-1939) Poet O. Milašius was a representative of Lithuania in France in 1920-1925 and an adviser in the Embassy of Lithuania to France in 1925-1938. In his verses he combined the romantic vision of Lithuania with his childhood's recollections. He wrote dramas based on the Bible and the Middle Ages. O.Milašius translated collections of Lithuanian folk-songs (1928) and tales (1930, 1933) into French. Several collections of his verses were published in Lithuanian.
