The Olympic Games in Sydney will be the third Summer Olympic Games where our athletes will represent the independent nation of Lithuania. Romas Ubartas, who won the 1992 Barcelona Olympic gold in the discus, symbolizes the return of Lithuania to the Olympic Games. 
Lithuanian basketball team won the bronze in Barcelona (1992) and Atlanta (1996). 
In Australia 62 asketball, boxing, canoe, cycling, gymnastics, judo, modern pentathlon, rowinLithuanian athletes will compete in 15 kinds of sports such as track-and-field, bg, sailing, shooting, swimming, table tennis, weightlifting and wrestling.
