From the early 18th century the legendary hill Radhost' in the Beskydy Mountains was linked to the cult of Radegast, the god of the Slavic pagans Ratars, worshipped as the god of the Sun, fire, harvest and hospitality. His statue is located on the crest of Radhost' between the Chapel of SS. Cyril and Methodius and the Pustevny building. The sand stone statue created in 1929 in the U.S.A. by the sculptor Albin Polasek (1879-1965), a native of Frenstat pod Radhostem arrived at Moravia a year later and was erected in 1931. The statue presently displayed at the same place is a copy from 1998.

The author of the designs of the issue was ac. painter and graphic artist Pavel Dvorsky, the engravings were the work of the graphic artist and engraver Jaroslav Tvrdon.

The stamp, sized 23 x 30 mm, was printed by the Post Printing House in Prague by rotary recess print in black combined with photogravure in ochre, grey and red in printing sheets of 50 pcs.

There is 1 First Day Cover incl. commemorative cancellation; the cachet is the chalet Mamenka in Pustevny built in 1899 projected by the architect Dugan Jurkovic in accordance with tradition of folk buildings in this part of Moravia. The cover was printed by recess print from flat plates in black-grey.
