First Day Cover:  1 stamp: Issue Date: 1 May 2004 Colour: multicoloured Printing stamp: offset Printing FDC: Recess print from flat plates Stamp size: 40 x 23 mm Design: CZK 9.00: Sheet: 10 stamps with labels Graphic Artist: JP Advertising Agency Limited for the Post of Malta (FDC-Jan Solpera) Printer: Post Printing House in Prague Subject of the stamp: The joint postage stamp of the nine of ten countries acceding to the European Union (Czech Republic, Estonia, Cyprus, Lithuania, Latvia, Hungary, Malta, Slovakia, Slovenia) is based on a design provided by the Maltese Post and will be issued with slight modifications in arranged sheets of ten stamps and coupons. Poland doesn´t take part in this project.The stamp shows a part of plastic map of Europe, Czech flag in the left lower corner of the stam and flags of other 9 countries acceding to the European Union in the center of the stamp with 12 golden stars. Side coupons contain the names of acceding countries in English, on the upper coupons there are texts: Spojená Evropa, United Europe and on the lower coupon there is situated hologram. There is one First Day Cover includng commemorative cancellation the cachet of which is a three-coloured map of a part of Europe, where the member countries of the EU are marked in a blue colour, the admittance countries in yellow and some states outside the EU in grey. The names of the admitted states are in Czech. The cover was printed by the printing house Varius Praha, a.s. by coloured offset. The stamp is valid for inland and international postage.
