On the 17th March, 2004 the Ministry of Communications of the Czech Republic issued a commemorative postage stamp Easter in the denomination of CZK 6.50. This year's postage stamp, especially designed to decorate Easter cards, commemorates the nice tradition connected with Easter eggs. The stamp bears the family of Mr. Egg walking through the blooming spring nature.
This is the first postage stamp representing the distinctive artwork of the academic painter and graphic artist Ladislav Hojny, the engravings are the work of engraver Pavel Kovfk.
The stamp, sized 30 x 23 mm was printed by the Post Printing House in Prague by rotary recess print in black combined with photogravure in yellow, green and red in printing sheets of 50 pcs.
There is 1 First Day Cover incl. commemorative cancellation the cachet of which is a stylized drawing of an hen. The cover is printed by recess print from flat plates in black.
The stamp is valid for inland and international postage from 17th March, 2004.
