Focus on Nordic mythology in Joint Stamp Series

Under the Top of the World of Stamps banner, the postal service organizations in the eight Nordic countries are jointly issuing a three-part postage stamp series featuring a Norse mythology theme. To be issued in 2004, the first installment is devoted to the world of the gods. Participating in the project are the national postal organizations from Denmark, Finland, Faroe Islands, Greenland, Iceland, Norway, Sweden and Åland. The myths, viewed through the lens of each culture, are projected onto the stamps, which are collected in a handsome folder. New issues are planned for 2006 and 2008.
